Chokkalingam Siva, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Medicine
Assistant Director, Rheumatology Fellowship Program
Dr. Siva welcomes patients with all types of rheumatic diseases. His particular clinical interests include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic Arthritis and Gout. He is interested in health services and medical informatics research on the use of Internet and electronic communications in clinical practice.
Celso R. Velazquez, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine
Dr. Velázquez enjoys the challenge of caring for patients with different rheumatic diseases. His specific clinical interests include gout, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and the inflammatory myopathies. There are new medications for many of these diseases and multidisciplinary treatment with orthopedic surgeons, physical and occupational therapists and other providers and specialists is essential.
Dr. Velázquez’s research is in medical education and in particular in new assessment methods for rheumatology fellows and nurse practitioners. He is working to develop the ROSCE (Rheumatology Objective Structured Clinical Examination) to assess trainee competency. He is also interested in diagnostic reasoning in rheumatology. Dr. Velázquez has recently become Associate Program Director of the Department of Internal Medicine.
